You are so very loved, just as you are. You don't have to be perfect to experience healing in your life. You are no less loved if you are struggling and life is looking different than you anticipated.
Â
Hi, I'm Rachael Spears and I'm so glad you're here.
Â
Welcome, you belong here.
Hey there! I’m so glad you’re here and welcome to my site. My name is Rachael and I married my husband in 2000! (That either makes us old or young, depending on where you fall in the age bracket) We have two amazing kids, both young adults making their mark on this world. We have the sweetest miniature beagle, Indiana “Indy” who we consider our little therapy dog.Â
Â
I have been a mental health therapist since 2017 but some may say I have been doing that job informally since I was a child. Growing up I knew I wanted to be a mother, but beyond that, I only knew that I loved helping others. I had a natural affinity for mediating conflict (hello middle child) and was a peacemaker. Making the leap to therapy was very fulfilling for me.
Â
Longer than being a therapist, I have been a follower of Christ. I grew up in a Christian home and although not perfect, that foundation caused me to want to know more about Jesus as I matured and wanted to explore faith independently. I am so grateful for that sweet saving grace.
Â
I have personally experienced heartache greater than I ever thought possible, pain beyond what I thought the human body could sustain, mental health struggles that I was sure would take me out and a glorious and triumphant victory in trials I never knew could have fathomed. I have felt God take my hand when I was scared and He is still walking me through some of the darkest valleys and helping make the mountaintop experiences that much sweeter.
Â
I am currently on a journey with my health, and wellness and how that fits into what I thought my life would be like. I believe that we are made up of body, mind and spirit. I want you to know that there is no shame if you are struggling with your body, mental health or spiritual walk. That God is faithful to heal, restore and give you hope. Those things don’t have to be perfect for you to have a meaningful life and to move forward in your giftings and callings. And as much as pain and suffering is unfathomable, I’m not here to tell you to pray more, believe more, have more faith or you must not believe in God. I have experienced my fair share of spiritual hurt and I want to help you feel restored to your faith, while still navigating real hurt and grief.Â
Â
I hope to share some practical tools and tips, inspirational stories, and “real-life” moments and help you experience freedom from guilt and shame. I like taking the beautiful marriage of science, evidence-based practices and Jesus’s relationship with us, to help bring hope and healing. It’s okay to still be figuring out your journey, it’s okay to be wrestling with your faith or maybe you don’t even believe at all. I hope the message will transcend barriers and open your heart, mind and spirit to what could be. I am still navigating my grief journey, but I know I am nothing without Christ's love for me. You are so very loved, and your life matters.Â
Â
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.Â
